Peter J. Martin

Peter Martin established Golden Actuarial Services in 2002 specializing in the valuation of pensions, stock options, restricted stock units, and retiring allowances on marriage breakdown, and the tax rates applicable to these. His practice has since expanded to include personal injury, costs of care, the valuation of pension losses on wrongful dismissal, and the valuation of life insurance policies.

Peter is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, the US Society of Actuaries, and a Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist who is also collaboratively trained. He is the proud holder of a masters degree in history, and of a bachelor of education degree.

His career has spanned work in life insurance, pensions, and with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. He has been a member of the Actuarial Evidence Committee of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries as well as an organizer of and presenter at the annual Canadian Institute of Actuaries litigation support conferences.

He continues to be active in providing education to lawyers about pensions in Ontario having been a speaker and workshop leader at Ontario Collaborative Law Federation and Osgoode Hall conferences. He has testified several times in Ontario.
